InnerVision's Unique Services
InnerVision Advanced Medical Imaging Center is committed to providing
the highest level of quality and service to our patients and referring
physicians. Our state-of-the-art center has equipment with unique features
that are often only found in academic centers and teaching hospitals.
Some of these include:
Multi-Slice
CT Scanner
-
The first Multi-slice CT scanner in the area
-
Multi-slice CT represents the next generation in CT technology
and allows exams to be completed up to 8 times faster than even
the most recent CT scanners
-
Faster scan times mean fewer and shorter periods of holding your
breath
-
The speed of Multi-slice can "freeze" heart motion allowing us
to evaluate for coronary artery calcification
(HeartVision
Scan). This can determine if you are at high risk for heart
disease or a heart attack, even if you have no symptoms
High Field
Strength MRI Scanner
-
High-speed, maximum strength magnet used in clinical medicine (1.5T)
produces images rapidly, providing an easier, quicker exam for patients
-
High field strength magnet produces more detailed images
Open short-bore design accommodates patients of all sizes more comfortably
3-D
Ultrasound Machine
-
State-of-the-art 3-D capability generates images that enable us
to better characterize abnormalities, particularly when looking
at babies in the uterus
-
Extended field-of-view capabilities let us look at larger areas
at one time
-
Advanced vascular capabilities let us image blockages in arteries
and veins
State-of-the-Art
Two-Headed Nuclear Medicine Camera
-
Two-headed camera means much shorter exam times than single headed
cameras
-
Open camera design eases anxiety in claustrophobic patients
-
Two-headed camera design allows it to get closer to the patient
producing more detail in the images that are produced
-
Our system uses powerful computer software to obtain the greatest
amount of information from any given exam
Positron
Emission Tomography (PET) Scanner
-
InnerVision PET center was one of the first fixed PET cameras in state
of Indiana.
-
PET scanners are usually found only at research or academic hospitals
-
Molecular imaging can evaluate the presence and spread of cancer
often not seen on other tests. This allows for earlier diagnosis,
better evaluation of spread of cancer and better evaluation of the
response to treatment
Results from a PET scan may prevent the necessity for a biopsy or surgery
PACS Interpretation System
At InnerVision we have adopted a PACS (picture archiving computer system)
for image interpretation. Our filmless system enables immediate availability
of images so that our radiologists can begin to evaluate your images
and provide a timely report to your doctor.
Our PACS system will also allow for the secure transmission of
important images to your doctor's computer, allowing him or her to view them directly
and consult with our radiologists about the findings.
