Lafayette Surgical Clinic
Our goal is to treat all patients with compassion and provide competent and state-of-the-art surgical care.

Lafayette Surgical Clinic’s surgeons are board certified (or board eligible) by the American Board of Surgery; this means our surgeons have completed at least five years of residency training in surgery after medical school and have taken and passed (or plan to take) the Board Examination in general surgery. Furthermore, in order to maintain Board Certification, our surgeons participate in ongoing continuing medical education, including "hands-on" experience as well as academic seminars.

Additionally, our surgeons are Fellows of the American College of Surgeons. This means that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the American College of Surgeons.

Lafayette Surgical Clinic offers a wide variety of surgical services. Areas of emphasis include surgery of the abdomen and its contents, including operations involving the diaphragm, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, and  hernia repairs. We also perform a variety operations involving excision of benign and malignant tumors of the skin and soft tissue, thyroid and parathyroid glands, and thoracic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the lungs and pleura. In conjunction with the St. Elizabeth Breast Center, a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for breast diseases, both benign and malignant, are offered.

Our strategy includes the appropriate use of technology such as endoscopic, laparoscopic or robotic approaches to provide the least invasive and least painful surgical solution whenever possible. We strive to provide value by providing the safest operation while minimizing costs and length of hospital stay.

Our surgeons operate primarily at the Unity Surgical Center and at Franciscan St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette where they also serve as the ATLS Certified trauma surgery team. We also staff outreach clinics at hospitals in surrounding communities in Monticello, Crawfordsville and Williamsport.

Take Lafayette Road towards hospital and turn into Emergency Room entrance from Lafayette Rd.  As soon as you turn they are the 1-story brown brick building in the right back corner (south of the Emergency Dept) and it says Sugar Creek Medical Center on the building.

Walk in to lobby and go right. Blue signs advertising Weekend Clinic and other specialists.  Dr. Summer and Dr. True are not listed on this sign yet.
