Responsibilities
- Oversees surgeon’s office practice, schedules surgeries, and handles patient phone calls
- Works closely with outside surgical facilities on orders, pretesting, and H&P’s
- Assists surgeon with scheduled and call cases
- Washing & wrapping instruments
- Assist surgeon with FMLA/STD paperwork
- Flexibility to float with other surgeons or fill in as needed
- Comply with clerical needs in the office
- Manages the insurance authorization process with patient’s insurance
- Shares responsibility for stocking office exam rooms / procedure rooms
- Follow guidelines of HIPAA in maintaining patient confidentiality
Requirements & Skills
- Certification(s): Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; BLS required
- Excellent communication skills required
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle fluid changes
- Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred
- Teamwork and leadership is essential
