Medical Coder

Unity Seeks a Medical Coder to join our team at Lafayette Orthopaedic Clinica practice division of Unity Healthcare. Candidate will be joining a well-established practice with eight Physicians.

Our ideal candidate will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing medical billing and coding for processing. Candidate must have thorough medical knowledge, be detail-oriented and well organized. Must have knowledge and experience with ICD-10 and CPT Coding, HCPCS Coding, keyboard experience and charge entry experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Medical Office Experience and Charge Entry Experience Preferred
  • Works well in a fast paced work environment
  • Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD-1 and CPT codes
  • Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations
  • Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
  • Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation
  • Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy
  • Ensure that all codes are current and active
