Security Officer

Unity seeks a Security Officer to join our Unity Healthcare Safety & Security team

Our ideal Security Officer will provide campus security which includes, monitor parking compliance, assisting staff to their vehicles, as well as answering alarms and investigating disturbances in a calm and professional manner. Must maintain strict confidentiality and use sound judgement when making decisions. Responsible for transporting and distributing supplies/materials between campus buildings, satellites and other businesses as needed. Must be professional with exceptional communication skills and is able to follow procedures and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Previous law enforcement experience preferred (ILEA graduate)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must be able to pass the Indiana Law Enforcement handgun qualification course
  • Must have a Concealed Carry or Personal Protection firearm permit
  • High School Diploma or GED required

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond quickly to emergencies
  • Provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Patrol the campus & buildings
  • Investigate and complete Incident Reports as necessary
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of campus emergency procedures
  • De-escalation of situations involving potentially aggressive/violent individuals
  • Develop and assist with emergency response training for Unity Healthcare staff

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

  • Lafayette, IN
  • Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm
  • Anticipated start date June 28th
