CDT can be effective in improving lymphedema symptoms such as swelling and pain. It is a more intensive program that combines bandaging, compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage, exercise, and self skin care, patient education and home exercise.

TECHNIQUES

Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (ASTYM) regenerates healthy soft tissues, such as muscles and tendons, and eliminates or reduces unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions. Offered in all locations.

Cupping Therapy uses local suction on the skin to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing. Suction is created using mechanical devices (hand or electrical pumps). It helps treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling. Offered in all locations.

Dry Needling is a treatment for musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction during which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles), tendons, ligaments, or near nerves to stimulate a healing response for pain. Offered in Lafayette location.

Kinesio Taping® is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It also extends the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting for soft tissue manipulation. Offered in all locations.

Vestibular Rehabilitation is an exercise-based program for reducing the symptoms of dizziness and imbalance. The focus is to improve walking and balance, and restore tolerance of daily activities. Offered in Lafayette, West Lafayette, Remington.

Whole Body Vibration uses a platform that vibrates rapidly in one or more directions to force the muscles of the body to contract in reaction, which increases physical strength and endurance. Offered in Lafayette and West Lafayette.
