Patient calls are accepted 11 am – 3 pm except during the lunch hour.  The best way to reach the office staff is through the Patient Portal. For life threatening emergencies, call 911 or go to Emergency Room. Due to high volume of patient calls, please feel free to leave voicemail or send message through Patient Portal.
If you have a medical issue or concern after hours and you are an established Unity Healthcare patient, call your physician for further direction. All others, visit Unity Immediate Care Center or seek emergency medical assistance as needed at a local hospital.

Please read the prep instructions at least 7 days prior to your scheduled procedure. Â The directions include a list of medications which need to be stopped prior to the procedure. Â Contact our office if you have any questions.
Please review these important practice guidelines.
Cancellation Policy: Please give us at least 3 business days’ notice if you are unable to make a scheduled appointment.  When you do not show up, it creates an unused appointment slot that could have been used for another patient; therefore, you will be charged $50 for a no-show.  The no-show charge must be paid by the patient and cannot be billed to insurance. If a new patient is a No-show, we will not be able to reschedule the patient for another day.
Children: In view of the ongoing pandemic, children below 18 are not allowed in the clinic unless they are a patient in our clinic.
Emergencies:Â If you have an emergency after hours or on weekends, please call our office and the answering service will connect you with the physician on call. In case of life threatening emergencies, please call 911.
Medicine Refills:Â Please call for medicine refills during office hours, at least 5 days before you run out. Medicine refills are not called in after hours. Â Patients may need an office visit prior to processing a refill. You may also obtain refills from your primary care physician.
Pain Medicines: Lafayette Gastroenterology does not prescribe chronic pain medications. You will need to contact your primary care physician for chronic pain medications.
Payment Policy:Â Payment is collected at the time of service. We will be glad to bill your insurance. However, if you have a co-payment, unmet deductible, or are responsible for a percentage of the charges, please bring a form of payment with you to your appointment. We accept cash, personal checks, MasterCard and Visa. We do not accept self-pay.
