Services

We offer the latest testing to diagnose and treat your neurological disorder.  We will work together to determine the best course of care for you. There are more than 600 neurological disorders, yet some are more common and well-known than others.

ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

Back Pain is one of the most common reasons people go to the doctor and a leading cause of disability worldwide. There are measures to prevent or relieve most back pain episodes.

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is numbness, tingling, weakness, and other problems in your hand due to pressure on the median nerve of your wrist.

Cephalic Disorders are congenital conditions that stem from damage to, or abnormal development of, the budding nervous system while the baby is in utero.

Cerebral Palsy is caused by a non-progressive brain injury or malformation that occurs while the child’s brain is under development, which primarily affects body movement and muscle coordination.

Chronic Pain is pain that lasts 3-6 months or more.  The feeling of pain comes from a series of messages that go through your nervous system and continue to fire even after you’ve healed.

Dementias including Alzheimer’s disease is a broad category of brain diseases that cause a long-term and often gradual decrease in the ability to think and remember that is great enough to affect a person’s daily functioning

Epilepsy affects people of all ages, is characterized by unpredictable seizures, and can cause other health problems.

Guillain-Barre Syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.

Headache can be a sign of stress or emotional distress, or it can result from a medical disorder, such as migraine or high blood pressureanxiety, or depression.

Huntington’s Disease is a genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure.

Insomnia is difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep and can be caused by many factors, but it also may also be caused by certain neurotransmitters in the brain that are known to be involved with sleep and wakefulness

Migraines is a primary headache disorder characterized by recurrent headaches that are moderate to severe.  Typically, the headaches affect one half of the head, are pulsating in nature, and last from two to 72 hours.

Movement Disorders including Tics/Tourette’s Syndrome are clinical syndromes with either an excess of movement or small voluntary and involuntary movements, unrelated to weakness or spasticity.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord in which the immune system attacks the protective sheath that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.

Myasthenia Gravis is caused by a breakdown in the normal communication between nerves and muscles and is characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control.

Myopathies are neuromuscular disorders in which the primary symptom is muscle weakness due to dysfunction of muscle fiber

Neuropathy is a result of damage to the nerves most often found in the Peripheral Nervous System that controls the motor, sensory, or autonomic nerves required to transmit voluntary and involuntary messages to the brain.

Parkinson’s Disease is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms generally come on slowly over time.

Seizures occur because of sudden, abnormal electrical activity in the brain. There are many types of seizures and some have mild symptoms while others cause convulsions.

Spinal Cord Injury is damage to any part of the spinal cord or nerves at the end of the spinal canal and often causes permanent changes in strength, sensation and other body functions below the site of the injury.

Stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain.

Tremor is an unintentional, rhythmic muscle movement involving to-and-fro movements of one or more parts of the body. It can affect the hands, arms, head, face, voice, trunk, and legs.  Most tremors occur in the hands

Tumors of the Nervous System is a disease in which abnormal cells form in the tissues of the brain and/or spinal cord.

Vertigo is a sense of rotation, rocking, or the world spinning, experienced even when someone is perfectly still.

Procedures

Botox can block certain chemical signals from your nerves, causing temporary paralysis of your muscles and can be used to treat chronic migraines, dystonia, and spasticity.

EMG/NCV Studies are electrodiagnostic tests performed to measure the electrical activity of muscles and nerves

EEG  is an electrophysiological monitoring method to record electrical activity of the brain.    Electrodes are placed along the scalp to measure voltage fluctuations.

Lumbar Puncture is a procedure to collect and look at the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

What to Expect

Our providers treats a wide range of neurological conditions, some of which we are able to immediately overcome and other more chronic conditions may require more ongoing care. Regardless of where you are on your journey, we want you to have a positive experience while you are a part of our practice. This allows you to be at ease about your caregivers so that you can focus on moving forward and getting better.

Here is what you can expect from us:

  • We will first get to know you as an individual – we recognize that every patient is unique and has a history that we need to understand and consider before we diagnose and treat.
  • We will collaborate – with you, each other, your primary care physician, other specialists, or regional treatment center if you have one. We will ask your other physicians for your past medical history as it relates to your current issue. Connecting the dots between providers is key.
  • We will do our best to help facilitate, alleviate or resolve any problems that may arise.
  • We will work hard to be responsive by returning your calls and test results promptly. We know how long the wait for results can seem.
  • We hope to show kindness, compassion, and understanding – to provide a safe haven in an uncertain time.
